About
Welcome to iMurphy dot com. This is the blog of Robert Murphy. I tend to write about geek-related things, my wife (who I\’ve manage to get to write here four times!) and family, and rant about politics, religion and philosophy.
Why is this site called -i-Murphy? Well for one, it’s a short sitename and it was available! Actually, it occurred to me about a year after I got a mac: All the internet-ready applications and hardware were called things like iThis and iThat. If my webpage was supposed to be my presense online, why not iMurphy; I borrowed a page from the Apple book.
One thing that Apple has always been very good at is clarity of purpose. Mac apps and computers are designed with the people’s needs first. Everything should work harmoniously towards that goal. I decided that’s how I want my webpage to be. Another word for clear is transparent, or the fancy Latin word Perspicuous.
Now, I didn’t grow up a Christian. In fact, I was one of the angry nerds who tormented little church-girls about the stupidity of their faith. My parents raised me with the Modern, Neutral Point-Of-View and I thought I was approaching Life without presumptions. ‘Was I proven wrong! I see that Faith in the God of the Bible and History is the necessary beginning of all true knowledge. You have been warned! I am a Presuppositionalist!
iMurphy. Presupposing Perspicuity.
No TagsI do maintain and frequent other places on the web. I run a wiki called Reformed Word. I am an Administrator and contributor to Tyva Wiki. I even troll around boring old Wikipedia.
